Dress Capsule

For the last six weeks I’ve been participating in the Gotta Get Away #GetawayWithALD capsule contest in the Amelia Lane Designs Facebook Group.

The capsule contest is really great, I mean, like anything Amelia Lane Designs does, it’s totally free-form with some inspiration if you need it. So each week there have been sponsors, pattern discount codes, giveaways just for participating. There’s also been a weekly focus, so if you weren’t sure what to put in your capsule, each week we had some inspiration about tops, bottoms, dresses, rompers, layers, everything!

I made a few capsules during the process but I am more of a free spirit. So I just sort of sewed whatever struck me and then today I’m adding them up and seeing what goes together. A capsule for the purposes of this event is 5 items.

The math worked out perfectly for “His Capsule” because it just so happens that I made exactly five things for my husband during this time frame! (blog post)

I made myself quite a few items, so I’m dividing them up into capsules now (because planning isn’t my thing, life just sort of happens!)

I made five that I’m calling my Jessie Capsule…. because they’re all 5oo4 Jessie Dresses! One of my favorite patterns, obviously! Blog post here

The next five I’ve sort of lost the creativity to organize. So it’s actually 6 dresses plus one extra, a cardigan and I’ll call it my dress capsule
