Into the wild
Pattern: Relaxed Peplum by Mamma Can Do It
I needed something to make a little splash at my new job! This Into the Wild ponte de roma from The Fab Clique was exactly the right move!
I’m not normally into loud prints or animal prints, and it’s tough to describe the colors on this, but let me tell you that it’s just right. The colors are just muted enough to be pretty without causing a scene. It’s interesting but not over the top. It’s professional, stylish, fancy, expensive looking grown-up animal print! I love it so much.
I wanted to show it off and I knew the Mamma Can Do It peplum would be perfect to show off how fancy it can look for work. The structure (because it’s ponte) gives the circle skirt on the peplum some body, like pleats without the extra steps!
Mamma Can Do It peplum and a pencil skirt is my go-to for feeling fancy and professional at work with little effort. Both patterns whip up in about a yard a piece and about an hour. I’ve made tons of peplums:
I was so eager to show off this latest spicy animal print peplum that I did what I needed to do -I whipped it up so quick and the timing was perfect because the power went out right after I finished! I wanted to wear it right away and that meant wearing it with my Sorrels because we got a couple of feet of snow! This was on my way to work that day. My husband was trying to dig my car out and kept getting in the shot!
I think I am going to need more animal prints in my life if I can find more that are this flattering!
