Priscilla Top by Mamma Can Do It
After a hiatus during which Mamma Can Do It patterns was sorely missed, they’re back and with a new top that come in all sizes, babies, kids, women’s and plus! It’s the Priscilla top!
The top has a handkerchief hem, tank or sleeves and a loose fitting bodice. Comfy, casual and great for all seasons!
I made this one with a cheap fabric I bought locally at High Fashion Fabrics in Sacramento. It’s probably a jersey. It was thin and had minimal vertical stretch, but I liked the price and the polka dots. It’s actually a really boring gray color so I tweaked these photos to make it purple, my favorite color. I almost never tweak photos because usually I’m sewing fabric that’s for sale at an online store and I want to share an accurate experience as true to color as possible, but since this is just local fabric from my personal stash, I’m making it what I wish it was!
These photos are true to color. This is the Allison Rayon Spandex from Amelia Lane Designs. I used solid eggplant double brushed polyester for the neck binding.
I made this top out of a 2 yard cut, after shrinkage! I was able to pull it off, though the neck in the back is about 1″ lower than intended because of how I had to cut my fabric.
This is a size 20 with a slight FBA graded to an 18 waist.
