Lauren top and dress by Sinclair Patterns

I work in an office that requires business-professional attire, so I’m always hunting for quick and easy sewing patterns that have just enough detail to dress up the look for work. The Lauren from Sinclair has those features and bonus points for being nursing friendly.

I used the most adorable lavender polka dot rayon spandex fabric from Amelia Lane Designs. #gottabeALD The color really softens the look for Spring time.

Because of the stretch of rayon spandex, I sized down to an 18 when I measure a 20.

I also added clear elastic to the waist when I attached the skirt so that it would have extra stability.

I enjoy the look of the pleated cross front bodice – it was surprisingly easy to make. The pleat method is similar to those on the Halla Madeline and Sinclair provides dot marks you can transfer to your fabric to match up, so the pleats are easy to make even sizes.
