Melbourne Dress by Peek-a-Boo

Last year for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball I wanted a new dress to wear. I wore my black Wiggle the year before so I wanted something different.

Since this would be my first time making the pattern and it’s special occasion fabric, I decided to make a muslin. I used DBP from Elevated Fashion Fabrics.

I made the circle skirt version. I love circle skirts without side seams! So easy to cut!

Because of the crossover access, I added this to my list of favorite nursing patterns!

I ordered PLENTY (five yards) stretch velvet from the designer ends section of Surge Fabrics. I had enough scraps leftover to make this Festive Peplum top too. I made the fish-tail version of the skirt. It’s the circle skirt piece with a high low.

We had a great time and I got LOTS of compliments on my dress!
